Still not so sure what was encouraging about this story. The unemployment rate is 15% for Elkhart county but still at 17.6% for Elkhart city and just as high for the surrounding cities. I am glad for the people covered here, but there are soooo many still looking, wanting and hoping for a job. One job...17% of Elkhart trying for it! Good luck to us all.

However, the unemployment rate that was just released was for last month (August-September). There have been numerous positions filled within the last month that people will start seeing in the unemployment rate. I think by the end of the year, Elkhart County will be hovering around 10% unemployment rate.
