Elkhart County jobless rate dips again

Elkhart County's unemployment rate dipped to 15 percent in September, registering its sixth straight monthy decline, according to figures released Wednesday by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

The county's unemployment rate has been steadily declining since it hit a high of 18.9 percent in March. It declined 0.7 percent in September from August's rate of 15.7 percent, according to the state.

The report on Elkhart County is consistent with The Adversity Index, an economic forecasting tool developed by Moody's Economy.com for msnbc.com, which last week showed that the city of Elkhart entered "recovery" in August after 32 consecutive months of economic contraction.

Good news although it will take more time to stabilize our economy. As soon there-after people realize that the Republican Party is like Lead Paint and contrary to raising Americans standard of living in our country, we will be in for more of the same suffering.

The county's unemployment rate has been steadily declining since it hit a high of 18.9 percent in March.

This is very good news for Elkhart County! More so than the last two months because this month the county actually net gained more jobs than it did last month. The only the last two months showed dips in the unemployment rate is because the number of people in the labor force had been declining. This month however the number of employed actually went up! Good news for Elkhart County. Also, do realize that these jobs are not considering the people who are going to be hired at Keystone, Prime Time Manufacturing, Electric Motors, Gulf Stream RV, Dometic Corp, Dwyer Instruments, Energy Inc., Dutchmen RV, Coachmen Bus division, Jami Inc, Truck Accessories Group, T-Flex LLC, Livin-Lite RV, and Monaco RV, which has employment up around 400 already with plans to add more. These are just the companies that have been announced in the last four months. Don't forget about the possibility of the Bayer site in Elkhart to attract 250-400 jobs with Vista Energy. Good news all around! We still have a long way to go though!
